Carrying on with my glitter phase, here are two new additions to my nail polish collection: Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry Collection and Sparkle-Icious, both by OPI. Although it does chip slightly faster than other OPI shades, I love the solid glitter finish (unlike the stuff I had when I was 10 that would only leave one piece of glitter on each nail) x

I am currently obsessed with Rodarte's video campaign showcasing their Spring 2011 collection. The short film, 'The Curve of Forgotten Things', is a collaboration between the Mulleavy sisters and Todd Cole, starring muse Elle Fanning.  I adore the distinct 70's vibe, and mesmerising soundtrack by Deerhunter, not to mention the gorgeous outfits and styling which change magically as Elle drifts from room to room in the abandoned house...it's perfection x

Look what I found on my doorstep today... Jeffrey Campbell black glitter Litas (or glitas for short)! I'd given up all hope on owning a pair as they'd been in such high demand, and out of stock for so long, but a couple of weeks ago I was luckily enough to nab a pair my size in the few hours before they sold out again. Yes, this means I've broken my shoe-buying suspension, but hey these babies are worth it. The only trouble now is finding somewhere to wear them without breaking my neck considering the state of the footpaths here at the moment x

After only 8 short weeks, Skins series 5 has come to a close. At the beginning of the series I must admit I was very sceptical about the new set of characters. I couldn't quite pinpoint what wasn't right, but there was definately something lacking. Although I love Franky, I think the first episode should've been more of an 'everyone' style to better set up the whole cast, as it wasn't until Liv's ep onwards when the characters become more than two-dimensional acquaintances pretending to be friends. I thought the finale was fantastic as the cast finally gelled into a believable group of friends, and are now heading in the right direction for series 6. However, I feel another 2 episodes really would have done the series justice, as just as I was starting to get into the new generation, and their lives, it's already over.  Too bad we have to wait until January for the next instalment, and to see if Rich's hair grows back x

After being incredibly intrigued by the trailer, and the stellar young British cast I have been eagerly awaiting the release of 'Never Let Me Go' for quite some time, but due to all the cinemas in Christchurch being closed this wait was made a little longer. I finally got the opportunity to see it today, and it's safe to say it's a film you will either love or hate. 

On the surface, 'Never Let Me Go' follows the lives of three children who grow up together at a countryside boarding school, and along the way become involved in an emotional love triangle. However, Kathy, Tommy and Ruth were created for a pre-determined purpose and although they are aware of this, as they become adults they must come to terms with the inevitable fate that awaits them. 

The story is an interesting combination of romantic drama, paired with subtle science fiction and despite it's overall  melancholic tone, the film is hauntingly beautiful and moving. Set in the 80's - 90's, the film is also spectacularly shot, making the English countryside dreary yet charming, echoing the mood of the drama. The cast is also excellent in their roles, although Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield were the stand-outs for me, each playing their character with such raw emotion that I felt their connection and could empathise with their heartbreaking situation. 

Overall, the film is tragic, but not in a bad way. I thoroughly enjoyed the interesting plot and the fact it left me with so many unanswered questions. It's definitely a film I will gladly see again x 

Last weekend Jess and I decided to escape 'Quakeschurch' for a few days and headed down to Queenstown. We had a fantastic time on our roadtrip so I decided to make a video documenting some of our antics. Enjoy x
