I'm sure it has it's flaws, but I must say I'm impressed with the UK's rail network, and how easily you can reach everything! While based in London I caught the train to Oxford where I spent 2 nights in a lovely little B&B while I wandered through the idyllic city and perused the University. Oxford, and the many colleges (I visited St Hildas), are steeped in such history it's difficult not to feel astounded at everything. Especially with names like the Ashmolean Museum and Bodleian Library.
