rings.

Crown, Initial + Infinity Knot Etsy/ Six band Stolen Girlfriends Club.

I'm a sucker for silver rings but something that really frustrates me is when they tarnish. Now I'm not only talking about cheap chain store brands, but I've also experienced it with those towards the higher end such as Marc by Marc Jacobs and Dior. This has led me to the resolution to only buy sterling silver rings, as no matter how much I may love the design (or designer), I really can't be doing with having to take my rings off every time I want to wash my hands. I've recently picked up a few sterling silver beauties from Etsy for incredibly reasonable prices, and although they may not carry the designer name, they are gorgeously handcrafted and will last the distance x

OOTD: hello, it's me again.

Jacket Topshop/ Shirt Glassons/ Jeans Glassons/ Shoes Jeffrey Campbell Lita/ Necklace Tiffany & Co/ Bag Marc by Marc Jacobs/ Glasses Rayban Wayfarers/ Lips Airborne Unicorn by Limecrime.

After a month long inadvertent break I thought it was high time I got reacquainted with my blog. Since my last post I've experienced lots of 'news' in my life... a new year, a new job, a new piercing and of course a few new clothes, but you'll be pleased to know that I have kept to my shoe spending ban so no new shoes! To be honest over the past few weeks I'd lost motivation and didn't feel like I'd worn many blogworthy outfits, but when I popped this on yesterday I decided it was time to get back to it. The jacket is a recent addition I picked up in the Topshop sale. It'd been sitting in my cart since before christmas so when it was finally reduced I decided to treat myself. I love the colour combination and boucle texture which dresses up the bomber style while still remaining casual. As for the rest of the outfit, it's really simple with black pleather panel jeans and a sheer textured shirt. I also dusted off my Litas as I haven't worn sky-high heels for a while. Stay tuned x

OOTD: pastel pieces.

Jacket Topshop/ Jumpsuit Cotton On/ Shoes Jeffrey Campbell Glen/ Necklace + Bracelet Mimco/ Bag Topshop/ Glasses Equip/ Lips Innocent by Topshop.

This jumpsuit has been in my wardrobe for a few years now, but I'm not sure why doesn't get out too often. For a coolish summer day I paired it with a mint boucle jacket from Topshop. I'm a fan of the contrasting elements i.e. the formal boucle fabric against biker zip details (although the zip on the front causes the left sleeve to pill, which is frustrating). The pastel grey wedges and oversized bag break up the long black column, while the cheap and cheerful heart shape glasses add a bit of fun to the look x

nails.

I've been rather slack keeping up with my latest nail pics as work is making them chip a lot quicker than usual. Here is what they look like today, OPI Houston We Have A Purple and DS Radiance topped with a couple of kooky eyes x

JC of the day: glen.

Although they were rather difficult to get hold of, the Glen wedge in grey suede are probably the simplest JCs I own. When I ordered them about 2 years ago I got them in my usual size but when they arrived I couldn't even fit my foot in, so sadly had to let them go. After several months of anxious waiting, and deciding I couldn't live without them, they were finally restocked on Revolve, so I sized up one and a half sizes! They are a little big, but fit fine and comfortable with an insole. These are the only JCs I've had a major issue with sizing, and although I don't wear them as much as I used to, they're a great staple shoe and I'm glad I did get hold of them x

OOTD: utilitarian neon.

Jacket Zara/ Shirt Glassons/ Jeans Country Road/ Necklace H&M/ Boots Cheap Monday/ Glasses Rayban Wayfarers/ Rings Karen Walker, Etsy, Stolen Girlfriends Club/ Lips Inhibition by Topshop.

Here is a version of my go-to outfit: black sheer shirt and skinny jeans. I know it's not the most exciting look but I like it and thought I would share. It's pretty casual as I've been out running errands etc (one of which is very exciting and you will see the result of soon). Although it's supposed to be summer, it was pretty chilly so my Zara pleather sleeve jacket was well warranted. To contrast with the utilitarian style, I choose neon highlights with a jewel necklace from H&M and nails in Fresh by Ruby. Believe it or not, the coordination was a coincidence this time x

JC of the day: lita.

The JCs for today are the Lita in distressed black leather. These were my first pair of Litas, and I believe second pair of JCs. I know almost every blogger (and their dog) has a pair of Litas so I'm not the first to vouch for how comfortable and easy to walk in they are, but it is true. Although I do love the distressed finish,  I often wish I'd opted for the plain black leather as sometimes when paired with opaques they can look a little odd. Having said that, they are a very versatile shoe and I suppose the distressed look is still very on trend to grunge up an outfit x

OOTD: cosmic.

Blazer See by Chloe/ Disco Pants American Apparel/ Shirt ASOS/ Shoes  Jeffrey Campbell Lita/ Glasses Missoni/ Lips Innocent by Topshop.

This cropped shirt from ASOS is definitely one of my favourite recent purchases as here I am wearing it again. This time I paired it with disco pants and a longline blazer for just a peek of midriff, adding an unexpected element to the look. As the outfit is predominantly black I livened it up with my cosmic Litas, which are the JCs I'm loving the most at the moment. I think the print and colour combination is literally 'out of this world.' To finish off, I matched my glasses and lips to the pale pink x

JC of the day: swansong.

Although I often regret impulse buys, the Swansong are a purchase I certainly do not. I nabbed them on final sale at Andrea Biani over a year ago and they're actually one of the few pairs of JCs I have bought in a physical store (which was good as I found they run a full size small). For me the Swansong are really versatile, as the sandal style is great for summer but can also easily be worn in winter with opaques due to the dark floral pattern. I'm a fan of the subtle floral pattern as it often goes unnoticed on first glance. Needless to say, despite the height they're comfortable and easy to walk in x
